it's still snowing.

And I'm stuck in the house, as predicted. We've already gotten at least a foot and a half of snow, though the drifts are much higher AND it's just piled up on top of the snow from the blizzard last week. Can I move to Florida? Or... I don't know, Arizona ( Read more... )

The snow sounds perfectly lovely. I've heard that over on the East Coast, it still hasn't snowed yet. (At least, since a day ago, when I talked with one of my Amherst friends who lives in upstate New York.) While I must wonder at how you got home with that weather (jeez, and I think you left a day after I did?), I'm glad to hear that at least someplace has snow!

Thank you for the note on my LJ, it was very nice. I've been reading Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, which I find infuriating and fascinating. I've also just been vegging out, mostly. To be perfectly honest, I'm kind of glad that other people (especially you) seem to be just hanging out.

I won't be coming back to Amherst until the 19th, I think. Oh yeah, and one note about costumes - if you could get both size 4 and size 6 pants, that would be tremendous. It's just that my butt can sometimes take a 4, but usually it's a little too big. =/

Have a good break, and I'm excited to see you in Wealth and Hellness in January!

Love,
Audrey

Hey Elly--it's James. Sorry I never responded to your email earlier--I can be such a ratty correspondent at times. I had an uneventful trip home (save for a small child stopping breathing on the last descent into Birmingham--the poor mother! I think he resumed breathing by the time we landed, and there was a medical crew on the ground for him.), & a very nice Christmas with the family. I will also be back for Interterm--getting back on the 7th. In the meantime, just reading Asimov and haunting electronics stores.

Hope you have a wonderful new year, and I hope to see you in January!

P.S.--Would it be all right should I friend you? "Should I friend..."...hmm...attempt-to-do-subjunctive-in-English syntax strikes again. Or maybe more of an optative--haven't seen one of those in a while. They just don't come up in the New Testament.

"Would it be all right were I to friend you?" That sounds about right, but really I wouldn't know. I've forgotten too much of my Latin training.

Anyway, I second James' hope that you have a wonderful new year.

Love,
Audrey
