You know, "Maneater" is actually 26 years old. Just to put things into perspective, that's just as old as anything played on oldies stations was when it first came out (with the sole exception of "Rock Around The Clock").
Further bizarre perspectives: When "Maneater" was released, the Beatles' "Let It Be" was only 12 years old. That's right, "Maneater" is more than twice as old now as "Let it Be" was back then...
And in comparison with certain other oldies staples: Both Jim Croce's "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" and Elton John's "Crocodile Rock" had only been out for 9 years at the time... The Four Seasons' "December 1963", 6... Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll", 3... and the Beach Boys' "Kokomo", minus 6! (Okay, that one gets to me too. Especially when they were playing it on oldies stations less than five years after it came out.)
And the icing on the cake: Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know" is older now than "Let It Be" was then...
