Particularly the icon makers.

Does anyone know of a free, usable photo editing program? I used to have a really nice one on my old computer (wasn't free, but it was nice) and I can't seem to find the disk to install it again. Anybody have any suggestions on what I should use? I kind of want to make some more icons.

LJ also has a very bare bones icon maker. If the photo you choose is too large, LJ helps you crop it so it fits. Very basic, but it works.

I edit photos in gimp, but I'm not sure if there's anything purely for photos...
