My daughter, who will be five in April, is developmentally delayed. She is in a Special Ed preschool program right now and in the fall we are hoping that she'll be able to be in the regular Kindergarten class with her IEP. She is an absolute angel and has the best disposition. Seeing some of the kids in her class in wheelchairs, I have literally thought exactly what you just said, "There but for the grace of God go I."
My son, who is seven, has been high maintenance from the day he arrived on this planet. He was diagnosed with ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety and depression. He takes high doses of fish oil supplements along with two medications daily. As well as weekly therapy. He's a hand full, but he's absolutely brilliant. Which is probably part of the problem. He's 7 going on 17.
They test me every minute of every day, but I know that I am so fortunate in so many ways.

sure, I'll add you back. I thought about naming my son Aidan, actually. But it was almost impossible to find a name we both liked. We decided on Alexander 5 days before I was induced. You're lucky you're husband isn't the complete pain in the rear my fiance is (and a third grade teacher to boot, so he knew how to make fun of EVERY name I came up with!)
