As The World Turns Luncheon 2010.

Apr 19, 2010 20:57

Okay, so the day started off pretty good. We were taking the 8:39 train to Penn. Mom was gonna wake me at 6:30 . . . I woke myself at 6:34. After shower, I did my makeup and get everything together, and started the documentary. After picking up Monica, we headed to Ronkonkoma train station.
While waiting for the train, this young black man, who was high was a motherfucking kite, started talking to Dad about life and death and the fear of dying; not really you want early in the morning. While on the train I’m talking to Monica and Mom, not once did I put my headphones in; and that’s rare, because I’d much rather listen to music than talk.
I got Monica and Mom to do interview for doc’, and then we got to Penn. Now, I’m wearing 3 inch heels; which I’ve been wearing everyday around the house since I first bought them. But as soon as I stepped off the train, my feet were already beginning to hurt.
Well, it was a long walk, but we *finally* got to the hotel. Took us a while to find the right floor, and since we were kind of late, I was panicking; but as soon as we got there, Lis and Emelie were waiting for us. It was the first time I was ever meeting Emelie in person, so I was very excited.
After checking in and getting out goodie-back-packs, we headed into the buying section. I spent $40 on raffle tickets - 100 tickets in total. At least 75 of those went to Jake/Van pictures, 13 went to Jon Hensley picture, and 12 went to an ATWT bracelet. I also spent $8 on a Jake/Van picture. As we were entering, it turns out Michael Parks, who plays Jack Snyder, had to leave early, so he was taking pictures and taking autographs. I felt bad, because he *really* had to leave and the line was so long. So I just hide on the side, took a picture, and walked away.
Of course, I screamed “MICHAEL PARK, I LOVE YOU!” Which made the fans laugh and Lis *pissed*. Since Lis, Judith, Emelie, and Judith’s friend, Bijou, were all sitting together at table 21; I had to go to my own table, 49; although it wasn’t that bad, they were only 4 tables away.
I started talking to this nice gay-male couple who came the year before, and this woman, who started watching the show about the same time as me, so we were both nubies.
While they were serving dinner, which was actually pretty good, they stated going to raffles - that was $40 down the drain. After that, Trent Dawson, who plays Henry Coleman, came out, along with Ellen Dolan, who plays Margo Hughes, came out to introduce everyone.
Everyone came out one by one, and I cheered for all. But when Van Hansis came out, who plays Luke Snyder, I shrieked so hard I thought I was gonna pass out. His hair = awesome. Now, after that, I didn’t have the strength to keep on screaming for them; so when Ellen introduced Jake Silbermann, who plays Noah Mayer (she said she knew who it was by the body), I cried “I love you, Jake!” over and over.
Once they let us to where they were signing, I went straight to Lesli’s and Marie Wilson’s, who plays Meg Snyder, line; mainly because it was right next to my table. And if anyone knows me, I am so anti-Molly, it’s crazy, but Lesli is *so* beautiful, I couldn’t just diss her.
So, while waiting on line, I got a phone call from Lis, asking me where I was. I told her I was on line for Lesli and Marie; she said she was on line for Van and Jake. I had a choice to make. And of course, I got out of line and met her there.
The line was *really* long, as we were on it for at least an hour; but it was cool, because we had a lot of fun. Judith, Bijou, Emelie, Lis, and I were talking and having a lot of fun. As we got closer and closer, were kept trying to see Van’s hair, because as I said, it’s amazing.
Bijou was telling us how Jake had gotten drunk at the last ATWT convention, and he started singing Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance. So then she, Judith, and I started singing it; which was awesome, because I told Lis we were going to be singing.
And twice, I hurt Lis. First, when I first saw Jake while on line. I was standing behind Lis, and I slammed my hand down on top of her head and cried “Oh my God, it’s Van! I mean, Jake!” I think she would’ve been that angry if I said that right name. Now, I know the difference between Van and Jake, but I kept looking for Van, but inside I found Jake.
Second time was when Jake, Van, and Eric Sheffer Stevens, who plays Dr. Reid Oliver, who was also at their table, went off to the bathroom. Lis was being a dork, and joking about a threesome. Now, I’m going to be nervous enough meeting them; the last thing I need is to think of them having sex. So I started slapping her arm to get her to shut up.
Another thing was that Bijou had given both Jake and Van cookies from Europe, and as soon as he got them, Van started eating them. Lis was laughing, but I started saying things like “Why shouldn’t he? Cookies are awesome!” and Van overheard me and he smiled at me.
The longer we waited, the more Emelie and I began shocked by how mellow we were. We were literally about five people away when I started freaking out, realizing I was *actually* going to meet Luke and Noah. I was very nervous, so Emelie went before me. I started getting butterflies and felt like I was really going to faint. Brigit was awesome, by fanning me with her picture, trying to give me air - shocking, it work.
Now, I barrowed Mom’s digital camera to take pictures, every picture I took came out really bad. I begged Lis is I could use her’s, and I did. When the lady asked who was next, I screamed “HER!” Pointing to Lis, trying to buy time.
I was kind of scared, because I had two pages in my ATWT book for them to sign, and I didn’t want to bother them. So when it was my time to go on, I tossed caution to the wind and stepped up.
The first thing I said to them was “Okay, just so you know, I’m about to faint.” since it was true. The three of them started laughing, and Van smoothly said “Oh no! Don’t faint. Breathe, breathe!” I asked them to sign their pages, and they did it happily. Moving around the back, I overheard them laughing.
Van *loved* that I put “Luke turns to the dark side”, which I cut out from a magazine. And Jake was joking to Van, saying “I didn’t know your middle name was Eduardo”, because I put Luciano Eduardo Grimaldi on it. One of the parts I loved was that while telling Van how to spell my name, Jake and Eric were talking, and he couldn’t hear me. So he gave me that dimple smile and asked me to repeat myself.
After getting Eric - who seemed shocked that I even asked him to sign something, let alone his own page with pictures and such, I asked them to sign the Nuke section. I actually looked at Van and told him it was the last thing and I’d be out of their hair.
When they saw the Nuke section, they were amazed. Jake *really* liked it, thinking I put a lot of effort into it, which I did. He was laughing, pointing out the nicknames I gave them - Luke being Sassy Bitch, Noah being Adorkable Dick. He even laughed saying “I didn’t know I was a dick!”
When it was time to take the picture, Van wrapped his arm around my waist, while Jake wrapped his arm around my shoulders. Now, I was freaking out *in my mind*, not knowing what to do with my hands. So I placed them against their backs, smiled, and waited. Once the picture was taken, Van and Jake both have me a double hug (Jake on the left, Van on the right).
As soon as I walked away, I found the others and started freaking out. I was laughing and just so excited; I mean, I just met Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann, the guys I love the most in the entire world. As we were walking to Billy’s line, I called my mom up, saying “Mommy! Mommy, I met Jake. I MET JAKE!” Sadly, she couldn’t hear me, so I had to hang up.
Once on Billy’s line, I took off my shoes. While there I talked more with Judith and Bijou, took pictures with Lis and of Emelie. Bijou told me that Billy was dressed kind of like a sailor and wearing heels, so as I joke, we were wondering if mine were bigger. As we got closer, I realized his were 2 inch, making mine bigger; which made me very happy. After putting my shoes back on so I can have the added height, Lis went up.
Our friend Ellen likes Billy, so Lis made a sign saying “Ellen was here,” for Billy to take a picture with. Before that, Billy started dancing, and I was egging him on, having a lot of fun. Once he took the picture, I told Billy how Ellen loves him, and he said he loved her back.
As soon as I walked up, Billy threw his arms around me in a hug; which was awesome, because he gives amazing hugs. After he, Marnie Schulenburg, who plays Ali, and Tom Denan, who played Adam Hughes, signed the book, we got together for a picture. I wrapped my arms around Billy’s waist and waited. The picture had no flash, so it came out bad. I turned to Lis and said through my teeth, “Allyssa! Don’t you ruin this for me!”
Billy laughed and pulled me close, as if I was joking, even though I was dead serious. After the picture was taken, I thanked them and walked off saying “I just got a hug from Billy!” and I could hear Billy laughing.
After that, we hurried onto Alex Cole, who plays Hunter, and Tom Pelphrey’s, who played Mick Dante, line. Again, I took my shoes off until it was time to go up, just so I could have the height. Once there, I told Tom how I was the only Mick supporter out of my group, which made him happy. We took the picture and headed out, because it was 4:06, and we had to be out of the room by 4:30.
While leaving, I noticed the table for Ben Levin’s, who plays Gabriel, and Valentina de Angelis’, who plays Faith Snyder, table had only three people on it. Now, I *love* Gabriel, so I forced Lis and Emelie to come with me. I started talking to Ben, and he said “By the end of the show . . . Gabriel would’ve stole Liberty from Parker…”
I laughed and told him I’m on Team Gabriel; which I am, and said that Parker is too overprotective. Valentina is *so* nice; which shocked me, because Faith is such a bitch on the show. After talking Lis’ picture, she asked if I wanted one. So I said, “No, I don’t want a picture. OF COURSE I WANT A PICTURE! HAVE YOU SEEN HIM!?” and pointed to Ben, who laughed and thanked me.
After taking the picture with those two, Emelie, Lis, and I left. While waiting for the elevator, Lesli Kay was there and people were talking to here. Again, we saw Judith and Bijou, just before their elevator opened up. As we waited for our own, Alex and Mick Hazen, who plays Parker, walked by.
Now, Mick and I are both 17, which I loved. Since the place was packed, it took them a while to get by, so I was literally three feet away from them. I smiled and said “Hey, Mick. You’re awesome.” He looked and me, smiled and said “Thank you,” before he and Alex left.
After that, Lis, Emelie, and I went outside and walked with Emelie back to her hotel. We said a sad goodbye and Lis and I went back to her hotel. This was the first time I was in the city without my parents around, so I was a little freaked.
Once back at the hotel, we went up to Lis’ room, which was up on the 42nd floor. There we hung out until my parents came. After saying goodbye, we left.
This is when my day turned sour. Dad was angry, Mom was drunk as the sky is blue, and Monica wasn’t much help. We had a half an hour to get to Penn and find our train. My feet were killing me, Mom say laughing and saying hello to everyone she passed, and bumped into me so many times. The only bright said was I could curse her out and she would’ve even notice; so I did - many times.
As soon as we walked into Penn, I ripped my shoes off - I’d rather walk barefoot than in those things. After finding the train, the three of them got coffee and we left. Once on the train, I was talking to people over Facebook via cell phone, telling Monica all about the luncheon, and listening to my Ipod. I even got my note cards out and started taking notes on what I wanted to write in here.
After that, we got to the car, dropped Monica off and headed home. As soon as I got my computer up, I started writing this. I was very excited to find a pretty good picture of Van and Jake on Mom’s camera, which I don’t even remember taking, so I had a fangirl moment.
So now I’m here, finishing this up. I still can’t believe I actually met them - I mean come on! Jake Silbermann and Van Hansis! Michael Park - I was 5 feet away from him. Yeah, I wish Jon Hensley, who plays Holden, could’ve been there, but oh well! What am I gonna do.
I heard there was going to be an ATWT/OLTL thingy coming up this summer; hopefully I will go to that. Until then; this was the greatest day of my life.
