BFL is doing well, to the best of my non-medical knowledge. He's about 5 months old, or -4 months, depending on how you look at it, and he's full of movement. The kicking has been going on (recognizably to me, anyway) since shortly before Christmas, and other people have been able to feel it pretty easily for the last month or so. Pokes and kicks

Depending on the news about gestational diabetes, I will happily share coping techniques with you! It takes some adjustment if you have it, but once you're past the adjustment period, it doesn't feel like you're being denied much (as long as your doctor says you can take care of it with diet and exercise).
I felt Alice kicking me for a couple of weeks before I recognized what the feeling was - it felt just like tiny belly muscle spasms! And then I went in for an ultrasound, and one of those little twitches happened, and the tech said, "Look! She just kicked!" And I went Ohhhhhhhh. I get it now. ... Dude.What I found really fascinating will be coming up for you in the next couple of months - when you can see BFL's kicks from the outside. In the sixth month, I was resting a book on mah tummeh, and suddenly it moved visibly with a kick. Eventually it'll be visible to other people as well. If BFL is cooperative, that is. ( ... )

BFL does seem to stop kicking whenever other people try to see or feel... ah well. John is the one who feels him the most, while we're almost asleep or almost awake and he decides to be kicky.

Oh and don't worry about the lack of sleep after baby is here, somehow your body adjusts and one could even say it gets used to it... although I have to admit it's probably been the hardest thing for me, but hey, I did survive!
