This week was quite eventful, in terms of work. I managed to get through all of my History of Magic readings (even the ones on the Medieval Centaur Councils), write out a rough draft of an essay on said councils, finish some Ancient Runes work (including the supplemental translations), and read ahead in Transfiguration and Charms. The NEWTS-level ( Read more... )

I quite like the psychic-delic things, really. They are very, very interesting, although I dare say my music teacher would faint in sheer horror and disgust. But I do not care, he was boring anyway.

I was wondering why I did not see you at Lisa's party. You really should have gone, I think it would have done you good to get away from the House for a bit. Although, the holidays are coming up, and while you are not going away, the House is, so that you should be able to recover before dealing with the more stupid of our housemates.

I didn't understand them at all. SOme of them even sounded rather nice, but when the people started singing it quickly lost its appeal. Perhaps it's just me, but trying to make sense of words that apparently are strung together at random is frustrating.

I had made plans to, but then found myself trying to slog through the Charms work, and I've always been rusty at that subject. One moment it was six o'clock, and the next time I looked up it was well-past lights out. It will be good to have a break, though... quite good indeed, even if it does involve spending inordinate amounts of time with Georgette.

What do you want for Christmas, by the way?

Maybe you are just supposed to enjoy the sound, without having to interpret it? After all, it is the experience that you are after, not the actual words being sung. Or I could just be very strange.

I do hope that Georgette behaves herself. Although, the laptop stealing incident was very entertaining, now that I look back. But maybe, with everyone out of the castle, people will stop being horrible to one another.

I really have no idea. I never really thought about it. What would you like?

Experience? There's a psychic-delic experience?

Georgette will never behave herself. And I still don't find it very entertaining, though I doubt that the horridness will cease.

Peace on Earth. Goodwill to men. An end to school. I hadn't thought about it either. How about this-- we'll surprise one another. Or not get anything at all-- your call.

I've been in absolute adoration with the Beatles since I was a kid- singing along to 'Hey, Jude' in the kitchen. What lovely days of yore... Anyway, I'm quite enjoying this project right now. Muggle Studies has invoked much nostalgia.

Anyway, at least you've caught up on all that work. I still haven't yet looked at the Ancient Runes translations. Shall attempt to do it with the Beatles in the background...

I hadn't heard much of the Beatles until very recently, when my father pulled out an old... oh, what do they call those round, black things that spin? Father has dozens of them-- proudly has the entirety of the Beatles collection, as well as the Who and many others. It's quite impressive, really.

The Ancient Runes translations aren't that bad. The supplementals are a bit tricky, but once you start them they're not all that terrible.

Don't make a huge melodrama out of it. The Ancient Runes stuff was simple. I did it weeks ago.

Don't be horrible. Just because you're a freak and think Runes are the reason for life itself does not mean that others share your screwed-up ideas.

Right, just so that you know, the consumption of frozen goods doesn't mean that I'm talking to you.
