I'm supposed to be doing a collection for a charity this week. The last day is Saturday. It's a registered charity, a great cause (heart health). They sent a kit with all the stuff (badge, receipt book, instructions). And I've only got to collect on my street

hey girl
you have an illness
also you are human - therefor sometimes say yes when you want to say no

there was even a best selling book called "Don't say yes when you want to say no"

i would phone them and explain you can't do it.
or email if that is easier
they will have lots of others nearby who can collect for your street
even at late notice

i had a similar instance....and eventually did collect but three weeks late...ie after the collection period had ended....but at the time when i could finally get out of bed.

i would give a donation based on your weekly spending not on a per missed house
they will in fact probably be collect from by another volunteer.
