Yay! That is so awesome and riotously colorful. I love turtles, but your turtle is total art.

Those are some fantastic macro shots! Very often the DoF is too shallow, but these are perfect!

Hey Effie,

That'd be me reflected in the eye, yep!
I shot these pictures (along with pretty much all other pictures in my journal) with a Nikon Coolpix 8800. It's a pretty nice camera for most things, but it's not a DSLR. I just bought a Nikon D60 last month with a basic lens for $600. I will have to get a zoom lens. I haven't had time to shoot much, but I like the D60. It has nice ISO choices and works better in low light conditions. You can pay more for a nicer camera, but that was what was in the price range I liked. I think it's a very fine camera for most things you could want to do. I didn't need to buy a more expensive camera to make wall-sized prints or anything! Not yet!
Sorry I may not have such helpful advice. :)
Any idea what kind of price range you would be looking at? Don't think that you need to get the most expensive camera out there - these affordable ones can be all that you need.

I have no idea what you can get for $350. You should make sure to get a camera with adjustable aperture and shutter speed. Pretty much any camera on the market these days can provide you with crisp 8x10 and 11x14 prints.
