MySpace banner advertisements infect computers with adware.

Couldn't this be done with any blogging system that allows banner ads? Wait, I suppose LiveJournal and MSN's blogging site don't use banners, or at least 3rd party banners. Or something like that.

Well, it could feasibly be done, MySpace does several things that make it more likely. First and formost they have by far the largest concentration of banner advertisments of any of the major social networking or blogging sites, which significantly ups the chances (you have to specifically sign up for ads with LJ, and both Yahoo 360 and MSN Spaces predominently use text ads). Their site is plastered with ads, several per page, giving it that hideous 2002 we are trying desperately to make money from ads so we put up as many as possible look and feel.
