if you go to gould's bookshop in newtown up the top in front of the trotsky section there should still be (as nothing ever seems to get cleaned up there) a blue book on top of a pile called radical melbourne. it's expensive but you can sit on top of a pile of books and read it if you're interested in where all the labour nerd historical places are. which you may not be.

if you are really hungry the servings at vege bar on brunswick st are always huge.

perpendicular to brunswick st on elgin st are lots of second hand bookstores and music swop shop which is a huge second hand guitar store.
