I just finished playing Episode 5 and 6 of Umineko. Bernkastel is really fucked up! Lambdadelta's a lot more composed, insightful, and compassionate than I had thought. Still my favorite character and now I know she's the one that really tops in the relationship. I actually felt bad for Erika in the end when I really wasn't expecting to ( Read more... )

Yeah episode six seemed to be metaworld answers, episode seven will be real world answers I suppose.

I actually don't think Lambdadelta is that composed and she's definitely not compassionate. She's a witch just like Bernkastel, I just don't think she's completely cracked like Bern has. I donno, she even said it herself during Episode 6 when Battler told her she wasn't that bad and she responded with something along the lines of "If you underestimate me it'll be the worst thing you'll do." I have a feeling we have more to see from Lambda in the future. I honestly think Bern just makes her look good at this point. WHICH SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT HER.

And I loved every moment with Erika but then again she is my favorite character.

Lambda seems to be more...random than Bern. Bern's always trying to be cruel, but sometimes Lambda's shown trying to support the underdog, like when she distracted Dlanor and actually seemed to be depressed or at least empathetic that Battler got trapped in a Logic Error. I think Lambda's more apt to be cruel or unrelentingly vicious when she's actually in a position to win or lose, otherwise she usually seems to be random in how she behaves. Like, even when she's enjoying being cruel to someone but they manage to get out of it, she's usually more amused and impressed than pissed like Bernkastel.

What it does come down to, though, is that they're both horrendously screwed up, difficult to understand, and Bern is by far the worse of the two.

I don't think she's random, I just think she has her own agenda which is keeping the gameboard at a stalemate forever. In order to do that she's going to change sides in order to make it interesting for her. But in the end she's only interested in pleasing herself.

As a firmly rooted member of the Dlanor camp, the popcorn made me rage pretty hard, not gonna lie. I mean, I'm rooting for Beato and Battler, but I also wanted to see Dlanor succeed. Clearly the only thing that would cheer me up is Battler and Dlanor teaming up to kick some ass.

Episodes 5 and 6 were strange for me because I really liked Bernkastel and hated Erika going into them, and that wound up reversing itself by the end. I know it's not a real redemption by any means but the scene with Dlanor trying to prove that she wasn't cheating on Erika was heartbreaking. Because of that I also ship it like burning, but that's not important. And Bern pissed me off in every way possible, but I do feel sympathetic toward her for being trapped in a logic error.

I've always loved Lambda from the start and Episode 6 only reinforced that, despite the fact that she threw popcorn at my favorite character. At this point I'm not certain if I'm in this series for the answers or just for the characters.

Oh, I love Dlanor, too, but right then and there I wanted to Dlanor to lose and knew she would; the way it happened and who caused is what I found awesome. Dlanor misses and I'm wondering "what happened???" and she just confusedly says "...popcorn?".

I feel sympathetic to some extent for Bern due to the logic error trap and being connected to Rika, but...Lambda suffered the same and isn't even a fraction as horrible. Lambda at least knows she can alleviate boredom in ways besides making people miserable.

I also shipped Dlanor/Erika by the end, especially with that scene you mentioned. And I'm sure Dlanor will (hopefully) be able to help Battler and Beatrice more in Episode 7. Dlanor being stuck under Bernkastel's thumb would...suck.
