Gaaahhhh!!! my internet connection from work is for shit today! It's like a 15 year old dial-up connection to Prodigy.

My easy day at work got ruined by a careless end user. No need to bore you with details, but some rocket scientist end user fubar'd part of the system on Saturday which we didn't find out about until this morning. It kept me from twidling my thumbs and browsing the internet on the company's dime as I had intended on doing all day.

Another rather unproductive weekend. Saturday's big accomplishment was heading up to Mira Mesa to water the trees at the in-laws house as they are on vacation. Hot day today. Pushed triple digits this afternoon. Beth developed some kind of rash all over her body last night and has been feeling pretty miserable. We're not quite sure what has caused it. I was finally able to bring Beth home this morning. This hospital stay has been quite an ordeal. The floor she was on had horrible nursing care. The fucked up her dietary orders brng her "liquid only" the first two days when the doctor never ordered that. Half the nurses barely spoke legible english, and I don't think they understood what you were ( Read more... )

With all this back business, I hadn't mentioned that my boss gave her notice. She had only been back from her leave of absence for just over a month. I guess she decided she was just tired of dealing with the bullshit. Another guy in another one of the departments in our group also just quit due to health reasons. Things are progressing well with Beths back. Tuesday she could barely sit on the edge of the bed. Today they had her up on her feet and she walked a small amount. She also sat in a chair for about an hour. The good thing is that the leg pains are gone. The pressure appears to be off the sciatic nerve and she only needs to deal with the surgical

Surgeons came down just after 11pm and said everything went a-ok. Beth finally got up to her room at 1:30am. By the time I left it was almost 2. The doc gave me these xrays of Beths new hardware. 2 rods, 4 screws and a synthetic spacer.

Sitting here in the lobby of Sharp Memorial Hospital waiting on Beths surgery. She went in about 5:30pm and it could be 5-6 hours before they are done. Then, some time in recovery before I get to see her, so it's gonna be a long night. I got her here at 2. Once they took her in I went back to the house and took the boy for some dinner.
