Let the Right One In

So I just saw Let the Right One In, which was lots of fun. While it was as grim and bloody as one might expect from a vampire flick made by Swedes, it was also suprisingly funny and warm, probably more so than any film I've seen from Scandinavia.

Yes, it was a surprising little horror movies that seems to take all the vampire aspects and put it the back seat. it was more a story about relationships, as in regard to age i think.

Also, I really enjoyed the DP's work on those night shots. He luved the "single lamp in snow" shot that really brings out the isolation and stillness of the setting.

I have to agree on the semi twitter conversation that, yes the American remake would probably suck... baring any miracles.

Though is it me, or i got the bad feeling that the young protagonist kid, will just grow up to become the old familiar in the beginning, whom seemed to luv the vampire girl, but probably wont be too competent come 50 yrs?

That was my suspicion, yeah. And that might be why the girl tried to run away at first rather than have some kind of relationship.
