Tonight I made a caramel apple upside-down cake. It was glorious! The recipe was pulled from a feature about the beauty of caramel in the recent issue of Canadian Living. Last week I made these awesome caramel meringues, featured in the same article. I think I'm going to start taking pictures of everything that I bake and, eventually, decorate my ( Read more... )

I will be your guidance consellor! I will guide you! Guide you, I shall! Prepare yourself for guidance than will guide you in directions you would not have otherwise been guided... In... Er... Guidden? Has "guide" lost all meaning for you yet?

P.S. I just applied for more school and a second job, so I'm pretty sure you're doing just fine, should be in no rush, and have no real reason to worry... Yet ;)

Also, I really like your hill story; thank you for sharing.

Hahaha, yes, "guide" is now pretty meaningless, but thanks for that!

What are you interested in taking in school??

I just realised that I wrote "than" instead of "that" in my original reply... So now I feel kinda bad telling you that I applied to teacher's college ;)

I totally know Eric Loughlin. His dad left his mom for a man.

Of course!! Did Mandy Loughlin worked at IGA when you were there? In my mind, those dates are lining up properly. Eric was one of my best friends through childhood and then we promptly cut our friendship cord by the seventh grade. He went to Meadowvale, yet I somehow haven't seen him since the eighth grade! Did his sisters go to Carmel?

His sisters went to Meadowvale too but we have a lot of friends in common and I worked with Mandy at IGA, she married Wendy's neighbour's dad AND I was good friens with this girl Jenn who lived with Eric's dad and his husband for years! Small world.

The hill story really got my attention.

There was a little gathering of pine trees near the baseball diamond at Plowmans, and there was a dip in the ground and I remember I brought matches and a hot dog and then proceeded to gathered some wood and make a little fire and had the idea that I was gonna roast this hot dog at school. I was pretty much done and ready to eat it when a teacher came rushing over at the sight of fire and looked down on me with such astonishment on her face. No teacher, nor the principal could understand why I did it.
