I'm feeling a little... discombobulated right now. I just spent the last 14 hours staring at a computer designing... stuff. Namely a newspaper spread and a web site. My eyes feel like raisins at this point. But I did it. And that's what counts ( Read more... )

Fasting is a wonderful way to build your health. (as long as you fast the right things) If you're gonna fast something, the coffee and alcohol are the best things. They're posions to your body (don't act like you don't know- I'm not lecturing here) and by letting your body function with out those poisons for a while it strengthens you not only physically but mentally too.

I don't know about the whole religious involvments but I do know fasting is a natural process and not just humans do it on a regular basis. Fasting is a major change. When there is a major change the brain is able to focus better.

How long is Lent for?

Wheeee! Adding a comment much later...go me. I'd just like to put in my 2 cents that coffee, at least is not a poison to your body: recent studies show that coffee is full of antioxidants, and the only really bad thing about it is caffiene, which when taken in moderation is fine.

As for alcohol, some of it is actually better for you than not having it, ie. red wine. But this is really moot anyway :D

I agree. Both of those things in moderation are beneficial. But there are a lot of things like that.
