I was thinking a lot about some of what you said when I went to go buy a new Bible last month. I finally decided that a teen study Bible does not relate well to an almost 25 year old, that and did you know the pages can freeze together if you leave it in your car for a week? I just can't believe that just a general paperback study Bible would cost 30 bux (plus the one I really wanted was $75).
reference Ben Folds' "Jesusland" from his album Songs for Silverman....gooooood stuff
frankly, i think testamints taste better than altoids, so there...but i do get your point and agree with it to a great extent...especially the cliche t-shirts...i used to think they were so super-cool and clever, and then i realized, "hey, why are we reducing our faith to rip-offs/parodies of 'cool' sayings or products or ads or whatever" ...it doesn't make much sense...but then again, if it does in some way help a person to witness, help a person to be more open about their faith, help interest someone else...then maybe it's worth it
