Hi everyone!  Hope things are going well with you all.  I've opened an online shop to sell some of my handcrafted items.  So far I've only got a few of my bookmarks up, but there's more on the way!

I believe in what I call Functional Art.  I know I don't need anymore clutter in my life, do you?  So I focus on making what I need beautiful as well as

That's a neat idea. I've never seen bookmarks like those. Someday when I have a job I can buy one. One thing to improve that you're probably aware of - some of the pics are blurry.

Another thing that came to mind, what about using a thin cloth ribbon in place of the wire/cord between the two sets of beads? Or maybe a thin silk-like cord (like maybe braided embroidery thread). That would make it look more appealing to those who wanted something a little fancier but still be functional. Just a thought.

You would not believe how long it took me to get those pictures!!! I knew I was not a very good photographer, but man, I didn't know I was this bad!!!

I thought they were blurry too, but everyone (husband, Daddy) kept saying 'oh, no, they look great.' Thankyou for being honest... Now I know I'm not going blind! My husband will be reshooting the pics just as soon as he figures out what did to the camera last weekend! (EeeK!)

Ribbons and embroidery floss were the original plan, but very few beads have holes big enough. Now I have a big package of floss and I don't do needlework! LOL I think my sis stil does,so I'm going to pass that stuff on to her.

I'm trying to find some coloured string, or colour it myself, but I have to be sure the colour won't transfer onto the page. Such problems!

Oh, I didn't think about hole size, What if you braided the floss and tied the ends off in knots, then string the beads on a thin wire or plastic thread, then tied one onto each end of the braid?

The ribbon would be bad though wouldn't it because it would fray...

There are beads with larger holes though that are used in necklace making. I know because back in the 70s (eep!) my sister and I used to make macrame/bead necklaces; they were all the rage for a while. We didn't use a thick cord, but thread like for fine crochet or tatting, and the beads fit on several strands that had been bundled. So maybe look for those?

When I do get a job again I think I'll put some beads on and run around naked in the streets waving champagne! XDD
