You can do it, James. You can even limit yourself during the convention. They always have water and healthy alternatives in the hotel. There won't be a hospitality suite, from what I hear. This should make it easier for you to choose a healthy place to eat.

The two simplest things you can do at the convention are to skip anything fried and anything carbonated. You'll have better stamina for the convention with real sleep and water. AND, you'll be healthier after it's over. No Con Plague!

I'd also recommend the expenditure of a couple of tubes of Airborne tablets. Take one in the morning and one in the evening during the convention. Don't let all of the germs from various places around the US and Abroad come together to give you the piggy flu or worse! :)

I totally feel ya here. Most people know I started a new diet... ahem... lifestyle change... about 4 1/2 months ago because of health issues. My problem involves insulin resistance and out of whack hormones, which also causes a lot of undue stress on the liver and other organs, so I completely understand the need to get things in balance. I went to a Naturopath who put me on a special diet, and I lost 15 lbs in the first two months, and another 5 or so since then. my goal wasn't weight loss, but that was a sign that what I was doing was having results. I also feel a LOT better than I did before. While I try to stick to my diet, I don't always because I'm just too busy working. If I eat stuff I shouldn't, I can definitely feel the difference. One of the best pieces of advice given to me was to try to stick to it, but don't beat myself up when I can't. Stress only makes things worse, and stress causes all sorts of health problems all on its own ( ... )
