AGH it IS May, isn't it? So I'm assuming you're going to be in China for your b-day later this month? Wow, awesome b-day.
ALSO YOU MET Faith Erin Hicks! ...Man, that's so cool. :D I am totally jealous! Though the crush of people would have been intimidating. I'm glad Kiri could save the day!
Your table looks awesome! I am currently browsing pictures and pretending I was there, too! Woo :D
TWO DAYS! We leave the 14th and get back the 30th. I am so so nervous and excited, haha. We got a handy ipod touch app that translates text in real time, though... I hope it helps with menus and things!
So yep, I'll be there to turn 25 :D Not sure if there are any unique Beijing birthday customs I should try out...
You so have to go to TCAF someday. Free entry, too! If we go again maybe you can room with us, haha. (And Faith was very nice when I said hi! Did you hear her new book is gonna be serialized as a webcomic first?)
AAH TWO DAYS. For handy Chinese things, http://chinesepod.com/ is great and http://mandarintools.com/ is what I used for my Chinese homework. I don't know how useful they'd be for your adventure, but maybe
( ... )
Thanks for the links! I'll check 'em out... so many last minute things to do.
I think TCAF's free entry is part of what makes it so great. People just read about it in the paper and stop by! A lot of people who aren't the most hardcore comic fans but are curious and want to check things out. Lots of parents with kids. And because they didn't pay to get in they've got plenty to spend inside. :D
