I've been up and down. I ended up moving in with my aunt and uncle last September-October, and commuting back to Manhattan for work. They were amazing. Then, my aunt found me an apartment in Bayonne, NJ. It's just below Jersey City, which is just over the water from the city. It takes me less time to get into work than it did when I lived in Brooklyn. And I never realized how much I hated the subway until I didn't have to take it anymore.
So, I've been in Bayonne for a year now. I like it immensely. In July, I bought my first motorcycle. I've been riding for two years, but hadn't bought my own bike. I love it. I actually work a night shift, 7pm -5am, so it became great for commuting to and from work. It's 15-20 minutes either way instead of an hour on public transportation. I will miss it when I store it from November to March because of the cold. :-)
I've kept reading posts, oddly enough. I just never write anything. So I kind of kept up with everyone's business over the past year.

I literally could not sleep after I read that comment. The essay response was very cathartic.
