yeah, I know smoke is bad, but second hand smoke is worse then smoking (freaky but true), plus I haven't made a habit out of, and I still won't smoke marijuana or tobacco, so don't worry about it.

To take a picture of a drawing, light it from all sides with home lamps, so it is ligthed uniformly, at about 45 degrees angle - such an angle that doesn't give reflections. Turn off the flash on the camera.
Sometimes it is possible to find a place like that at home - may be at the kichen.
Or in the evening outside is good too - the light is scattered and outside light is much brighter than at home.
