Sehun can see them; multitudes of colors sprouting behind people's backs in lovely patterns and swirls --wings that are invisible to the naked human eye. Some are incredibly huge, sized like the distance of arms wide spread, others a little tinier, like mysterious young buds of roses that have yet to bloom.
It is a very unusual ability he discovers as a young teenager -- being able to tell apart people born for stardom, whose natural talent flows in their veins, from ordinary people, aspiring celebrities or not.
And then he meets Lu Han, the newest Chinese trainee, where he sees with his two light brown orbs the most beautiful, the most remarkable, and the most unforgettable pair of wings he has ever seen. Time stops, he holds his breath and grasps the moment an angel on earth, the only noun that seems perfect enough to be associated such a heavenly beauty, walks by him.
Before he can stop his mouth he says, "You have a beautiful pair of wings."
Lu Han is no angel but then he laughs and Sehun is once again mesmerized.
Hard times come and people with the smaller wings quit, saying good bye to the doors of dreams that did not open for them. But then Sehun looks discreetly at the elder boy beside crouched beside him, knees to his chest. He pretends to not notice when Lu Han wipes away the droplets of tears threatening to fall from his eyes and looks back at him with a smile and asks, "I have wings, right?"
Sehun nods slowly and the other looks at him with eyes telling, "I can still do this and I will do this. With you."
Lu Han's fingers fit the gap of Sehun's own perfectly.
