Somehow, Sehun feels guilty for questioning his brother's sexual preference. But as he watches Kris break into a grin as lets his so-called 'friend' enter his room, Sehun goes back to doubting.
Sehun raises an eyebrow from where is sitting. He notices how his brother changes his tone of voice when talking to this friend of his, apparently named Chanyeol. Kris never smiled at anyone like that, more over change his tone of voice from his trademark cold ice prince to a sweet caring gentleman. Well, except himself. Because even if he acts like the bratty younger brother, he knows Kris adores him and Sehun will never admit that he secretly likes it when his hyung spoils him.
He blames the day his nosy cousin drives him into the corner of their kitchen and asks, "Who is that guy with Kris?" Lu Han uses his lips to subtly point at Kris and his just-as-tall friend heading to Kris' room upstairs.
Sehun puts down the book he is reading to spare Lu Han a glance, as he closes the fridge, "Why do you want to know?"
Lu Han thinks of a reasonable enough answer, "Because I am a concerned cousin?"
Sehun gives the other a disapproving look, "More like a gossip boy who wants to sell information to the 'We Love Kris Society'."
Lu Han trails Sehun as the latter goes back to living room, settling down on the sofa. He sighs, as he hits the younger slightly on the shoulder, "Everybody wants to know about perfect cousin's misadventures."
Lu Han looks at him with puppy eyes.
"A friend from his university. Hyung is helping him out for his thesis," Sehun answers just to give his annoying cousin what he wants, running fingers through his hair.
"Thesis huh?"
Lu Han laughs. Sehun looks at his cousin as if he has gone crazy. He pictures his brother and this Chanyeol guy in his brother's room, noses buried in stacks of books, papers, calculators and spare parts of some electronic devices. They have been spending time with each other a lot.
"He needs help because I'm good at these kinds of things," he remembers Kris telling him the first time Chanyeol visits their house. He doesn't see what's so funny about that.
"I see," Lu Han mutters to himself more than Sehun underneath his giggles,
Sehun wants to ask but doesn't. Most of the time Lu Han is just as confusing as hell so he shrugs it off and continues reading his book.
Once, Chanyeol comes straight into the kitchen and with a toothy grin and declares, "Let me cook you guys pasta!" He puts his grocery bags on the kitchen counter and begins to take out cooking materials from the drawers.
Chanyeol even knows where the measuring cups are. Sehun tries not to poke on this matter even more.
"Hyung isn't here yet," Sehun says. This is actually the first time he has spoken with this Chanyeol guy alone and he feels somewhat awkward.
They only know each other by mere association. He doesn't even remember the last time they spoke, which is most likely the first time they did too. Without Kris, there is no one to bridge the gap, they are simply strangers.
But Chanyeol is weird as he is perky.
"It's okay, he'll probably look for food once he gets home," Chanyeol beams as he ties an apron around him. It's pink and flowery and Sehun wants to laugh because he looks ridiculous. That is a thing friends do but they aren't even close to friends. Instead, he walks out of the kitchen and heads to the living room leaving Chanyeol with a, "Do what you want."
Kris comes home with a surprised look, his mouth slightly open, obviously not expecting his friend over. He sits down at the chair Chanyeol pulls out from him and Sehun tries not to take note of the way Kris is controlling his grin. Chanyeol is naturally loud and jumpy, a total opposite of his brother, cool and composed; Sehun doesn't even know how this kind of person is best friends with his brother.
"I thought you were busy," Kris says this in a low voice, but Sehun still hears.
"I have time for you," Chanyeol answers back almost immediately, but he pauses when he realizes he said something he shouldn't have.
Kris tenses, and Sehun feels the shift of the atmosphere to a heavier one. It is almost suffocating. he eyes Kris shifting his gaze from Chanyeol to him and back to Chanyeol again, as if caught off-guard.
"Because I really need your help for my thesis, I mean," Chanyeol clears his throat, almost looking sorry.
He feels something isn't right so he excuses himself into his bedroom, leaving the two men in the dining room, flushed and awkward.
Sehun doesn't need any more clarification that night.
Especially not after the noises he hears as he passes by his brother's room.
"F-fuck, Kris, harder! I'm about to--"
Sehun thinks he is going to faint as he runs back to his room and dials Lu Han's number.
"What do you know about hyung and Chanyeol?"
Lu Han laughs again, "Nothing much. aside from the fact that thesis season for engineering students has long been over in our university."
He pictures Lu Han wiggling his eyebrows, that evil evil cousin.
"Pretty interesting 'friendship' they have there, don’t you think?"
Sehun hangs up on him as he buries his head with a pillow -- the noise from the other room not letting him sleep at peace.
"C-Chanyeol-ahhhh…"
"Shhh...your little brother might hear..."
Sehun groans, wishing that the ground swallows him. He doesn't need to know these things.
"FUCK!"
Oh. Dear. God. Why.

A/N: Inspired by Karen's oppa's bromantic story. Basically she just spazzed at me over Naver Line telling how her aunts think something is going on between his older brother and his best friend who always show up at their house, because 'he needs help for his thesis.' Sounds legit? But cooking food for him, showing up pre-Valentines Day and going to the mall together? Different story. The sex part isn't part of this though, in case you are wondering lol. Hmmm...still thinking of expanding on the KrisYeol story though? If it doesn't get too busy.
Big thanks to Clara, who fixed my capitalization and checked my typos and grammar because I wrote this entire thing via mobile (I don't know how long I'm going to use this as an excuse to my mediocre writing skills though.) But at least Clara's comment made me feel better (she told me to put this in my A/N, I swear):
"I think you are one of the few Krisyeol writers I will actually read." /sobs she's too kind.
