I only wish the story had explored more of the dynamics between this group of people because they are endlessly fascinating to me, OR MAYBE THIS SHOWS JUST LOOKS/SOUNDS/FEELS BETTER IN MY HEAD, IDK.
Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat here. This, along with the whole "who am I?" thing (which is much better explored with Daisuke than it is Satoshi, and even then it feels like it's only just sort of poked it's way through the surface).
The problem with Sugisaki is that she's got SO MANY ideas (many of which I love)...but it's like she can't fully commit or something, or gets bored. Like, seriously; why would you go off and start a new series (Ascribe) when there are so many good ones you could return to (Lagoon Engine, Candidate [I can dream]) should you choose to take a break? ...hell, why would you break on your most popular series? I'm not frustrated after years of waiting or anything
Oh my god, you totally nailed that own down! I think the reason why I'm so emotionally invested in this series because of all the possibilities and how it could have been great. I liked the Argentine arc a whole lot (probably because the girls weren't around much and also because there was a lot of family backstory covered - i'm all for some family history hehe) and it raised a lot of interesting questions and could have paved the way for an even more spectacular arc but then the story just 'reset' and went back to the starting point as if nothing happen. Urgh, I hate that. Another issue I have with Yukiru-sensei is that, she doesn't seem to know her characters well? Not quite sure if that's the way to put it, but lemme try. It's like, right from the start she has her characters all planned out in the roles she gave them (Risa is a lovesick fool chasing after Dark, Krad is a manipulative douchebag, Satoshi is angsty etc etc, you get it) and even though there has been sufficient developments in the story to break them

To finally reply to the fanmix...I keep listening to Thistles and Weeds over and over, and you chose one of my favorite Muse songs. And Yuki Kajiura...is that from .hack//SIGN and Madoka? My goodness...
The not-quite-character-development also pisses me off. Unfortunately, I feel as if the only one who REALLY got development is freaking Risa, and it's only in relation to Dark, really. And while Satoshi admitted that Daisuke meant a lot to him and has moments of trust...he still keeps his distance and doesn't really let himself be known...which really is just status quo. I liked the Argentine arc for the same reason; I thought shit was about to get real with all the character development for Satoshi, the emotional issues for Daisuke, and finally more info on the origin of the curse. It really did just "reset", didn't it? I have a real-life friend who agrees that the concept is AMAZING, but Sugisaki just doesn't do it much justice. Krad and Satoshi's relationship is the one I want more info on the most, though

although this makes me incredibly sad that it is still not done satoshi and daisuke need to make out and everyone lives happily ever after in a foursome or sixsome the end
Supposedly it is coming back this month? But I am wary about that whole "End of Part 1" part... end of the finale? (in which case there better actually be some ANSWERS) or end of the first half of the manga? (in which case... I don't even wanna think about it.)
Before it does that, it'll spiral into destruction and end up bringing all of us along with it. I don't think I can bear to see the manga live on and fall to that level of depravity!
I always tell myself not to hope too much for the manga's continuation or expect it to make much sense, but arrgh, it never works. In any case, I'll...just pretend it's a series of very pretty artworks, or something.
