Hey Eric, I feel your pain. My professors are always giving us broad based ideas of how they would like the papers to be...which pretty much is to give us an approximate length (either maximum or minimum depending upon the course) and that's it. It used to annoy me to no extreme but now I actually like it - because I find they like the diversity of papers they get back. His feedback probably would have been nicer to get earlier in the process though so I can understand your frustration there. My professors won't look at drafts or discuss papers with us any time after Nov. 15, most of the papers are due Dec. 2 (last day of class), and its a long standing rule that all the professors abide by. However I have one class that the paper isn't due until Dec. 16 - which means the professor won't talk to us about anything involving our papers for a full month before our paper is due...and during the time period in which 99% of class is writing it....School can be very frustrating - I can't wait to be done in May.
