Hello! Chapter 21 of A Secret Gate is now up on my website (http://entropyhouse.com/elanor/secretgate.html), so I am once again journaling a few thoughts. (Also, I just noticed the other day that I have a few new Friends! How nice! Thank you, and I hope you don’t mind if ( Read more... )

Wonderful! I've been waiting and waiting for this chapter to go up! IN an ironic twist, I'll probably wait until this weekend to read it, since I've been busy working OT this week so will not have a lot of time. But I will give you wonderful feedback!

You'll be getting an email on some interesting developments, or potential developments, in my life...

I'll look forward to your e-mail; I've not heard from anyone in weeks!

Hmm..I'm not sure if this is just me, or not, but when I went to the Secret Gate website, I can click on every other chapter and the text comes up just fine with the brown background, but when I click on the new chapter, it comes up all white with no text.

Any suggestions?

Oh, Elanor! I almost missed seeing this post--I don't know why I didn't see it yesterday! I'm so excited to see that the new chapter is up.

I'll read it at lunchtime, when I will have plenty of uninterrupted time!

*whee!* *scurries to bookmark*

And I love the way you do research--I'd never have thought of researching the smell of wood!

Oh dear, I'm having the same problem as Deb. The chapter heading and the first letter show up, but no text!

And I did hit "refresh"--it didn't help.

I'll drop a note to the webmistress and see what's up. Meanwhile, I guess I'd better see about getting it up at SoA.

Bother!

Did a little experimenting, and I discovered I could replicate the problem in Internet Explorer. So that sort of sounds like its a browser issue. I'll inform the webmistress, and if you have another browser, try that.

Thanks for letting me know. Deb thought maybe it was her work computer, but it looks like its the browser. Funny, after all this time with no problems...

I always enjoy a chance to step into this little (or not so little) addition you've built on to Tolkien's world. Sometimes it seems a shame we can't stay a little longer. :)

I especially enjoyed Berry's ankle-bracelet and the story behind it. It's great how you've worked characters like Gimli into the story in such a way that it feels organic, rather than just name-dropping. If that makes any sense.

Have there been any new illustrations added lately, btw? It's always great to see those, too.

Rachel's second baby boy has put kind of a dent in her ability to find time to do pictures for me. I'm hoping to get some more, but it may be awhile. I will tell her she's missed, though!

Your comment that Gimli seems an 'organic' addition to the story is such a lovely compliment--quite unexpected and very much appreciated. Thank you very much!

I am down to just a few die-hard readers now; sincerely, thank you so much for sticking with me. :)
