July 2010 Fic Round Up

Jul 30, 2010 16:32

I haven't done this since January.

So without further ado:

  1. Way, way down inside honey - He's not a man who listens to words. Outsider POV. Dean/OFC. Supernatural. NC-17. Word count: 1263. Written for 30_snapshots, specifically the "toys" prompt. We can all guess there this one ended up...

  2. Cuts You Up - Black River Falls hadn't changed in fourteen years. ( Read more... )

"Maybe I just have too many stories and I need to focus on one thing." That's entirely possible, but it's so hard to do. When an idea pops up for one story you're writing when you're in the middle of working on another, should you just let it wait? What if you forget it, or remember it but the perfect wording is gone and you just remember the concept. It's a tough call, and one I can't really help with because I'm working on a bunch of things right now and can't pick just one to focus on. I wish I could. Having been spectacularly unhelpful, I'd like to go on to add that I've read two of the stories you listed above and they both kicked ass, so good on you!

And that you're writing no less than an hour a day is awesome.

I have a "file" of story ideas that I keep, so I will always have them. The problem occurs when I go beyond that basic summary and actually start writing the damn thing. I really do think I need to prioritize the ficlets I am working on and then move on to the more complex snapshots. And not allow myself to get inspired by more pegging fic.

Dude, how can you not write a story called "Happiness is a warm gun"?

I'd like to go on to add that I've read two of the stories you listed above and they both kicked ass, so good on you!

*is blushing*

What I can say for myself is that writing Dean/Charlotte is the singularly easiest thing I can write - original or fanfic - because I know them so well at this point.

You're doing so good, bb! You got so much done this month - definitely be proud of that. Your WIPs will always be there whenever you are ready to get back to them. And yay for discipline and writing every day -- that's where it starts. <3

Well, to be fair, the WIPs have been languishing on the hard drive for a long time... ;)

But I do think discipline is where I need to start. And I've come up with a plan - so I'm going to see where that takes me. So long as I don't start anything else on the one-shot front, I should be fine.

And you're right - the WIPs will come. I may have to drop out of oc_bigbang, because I had started writing Sorrow again for that...but I feel like I'm rushing it.

You do know you're one of my inspirations, right. Your writing is so consistently awesome.

Well, as I do with my silly banner. It's better. I might still play around with it later, but my mom is here so I should be social. ;)
