There are those people who normally are consumed by the daily routine of their lives.  They live in the materialistic world we created.  They worry about what other people think of them and enjoy superficial things like buying whatever type of handbag is in vogue.  Then, suddenly, they'll be triggered by some event to appreciate the natural beauty of life.  They have some awakening and realize all the good things they take for granted from a serene scene of freshly fallen snow to unrequited love.

In these moments of transcendence they seem to unintentionally put on a holier-than-thou attitude, and then the next day or even in the next hour they are back to they're usual selves with their usual concerns.  To me this seems more superficial than anything.  I dont think people have to forsake superficial desires like wanting to look good, because I think that is part of human nature.  By why do they have these moments of transendence, yes the leaves on the trees along the side of the road are particularly attractive with their fire red and golden yellow hues, but are you really so consumed with materialistic beauty that you need to change gears before you can admire natural beauty, shouldn't the admiration just come, well, naturally...

I'm not sure if this will make sense to other people they way it makes sense in my head, but oh well...
