that's just a load of crap. I don't understand how people can be so shallow and cruel. Of course to them it was all in the excitement of the afternoon, but that little girl was loved by someone who is going to be hurt terribly by all that went on.
And i'm very sorry that you had to even be faced with a situation like that :(

omg, that is horrible. it reminds me of some gritty cop movie i watched once, where someone had been killed and was lying in a pool of blood outside a huge casino. and this couple were taking fotos, and the gritty badboy cop goes: who are you? reporters?

and the couple said, "No, we're from florida!"

or something like it.

*hugs*

did you take fotos of the body?

i think that was one thing that astounded me about both Philippine news reports and US news reports... the actually display of dead bodies.

like, OMG, there is a guy with blood and guts and half his head shot off.

and literally, it would be shown.

our Press isn't quite so 'blase' about death. or something.
although, ive noticed that no country seems to be afraid of filming poor victims of war.

I have a standing no bodies policy. This isn't a paper thing, it's personal. I have this problem with all of the gore in the media, and refuse to contribute to it. zOur standing blase' with violence and death just reflects our exposure to it. I also refuse to support censorship of any type because i feel it is our own responsibility to do such things (and I can't trust the government on anything since it is incompetent to buy a hammer for less than like us$300.00 or something). God all I do sometimes is contrasdict myself. Back to the original thread. I took some pictures of some cops standing around while waiting for the forensics guys to show up. Thank God that I couldn't see the body because they had yet to remove it from the garbage can. I think I would have quit right then and there if I had seen that poor girl's mutilated form. I have since found out that she had been nearly cut in half or something like that. What kind of sick fuck does that to some little girl?
