Yesterday I made the mistake of engaging my ex in a discussion like this. He thinks the current case where you can be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions for 12 months isn't so bad. Because hey, better to pay premiums and have no meaningful coverage for a year than none at all!

I mentioned "ex", right?
