For some idiotic reason, Melinda and I went and signed up for the 100 Miles of Nowhere. This involved donating about $100 for cancer research, and promising to ride 100 miles without going anywhere, in exchange for a load of schwag most of which we don't want. I am very excited about my watch and my fat cyclist shirt. oh, and I'll probably have some carborocket too, because I'm willing to try anything once.

But seriously, I'd love to be pointed and laughed at, and if you show up towards the end you can probably convince us to go eat some pie instead. I predict that laps 150 - 175 will be the worst, morale-wise.

oh, yeah I forgot to mention the shirts. They are genuinely good schwag, of the sort that I will wear with pride for approximately 15 years before finally admitting that it's too worn out.

oh, and on the pie front: what do you say to rewarding ourselves with dinner at Poppy afterwards? Or will we be too smelly to be out in public?

OK, that is awesome.

I'm probably doing the "Tour de Queens" bike ride in a month or so. But I haven't gotten the bike up and running from the winter yet.

Aw foo, I wish I'd seen this sooner, I would've come by and said hi and ridden a few laps with you. Or set up my rollers in the park for a bit. (Hmm, riding rollers in public... maybe not.)
