Yom Kippur: why I fast

About an hour ago, the sun set, not that anyone here in Seattle would have known the difference in today's unusually stereotypical weather. This marked the start of Yom Kippur, for which I will be fasting until sunset tomorrow

Escaping electronics is part of what I like so much about long (or even just 2-3 day) backpacking trips. I really get to disconnect from the information-intense "civilized" world and connect with myself, my surrounds, and, perhaps, whoever I'm backpacking with at the time.

I'm glad you're well enough to celebrate this holiday again.
