Hirasawa Music Pimpage

Because I have been listening to nothing but this album since Thursday night, which I think merits spazzing to the internets about it.

Cut for spazzing, download link, and art )

I hope you like it! I'm always more than a little nervous to share something so terribly close and dear to me, but I couldn't keep it to myself. Let me know what you think of it. ^^

no worries girl! I've got a pretty wide range of likes!

I've totally already volumed up and I'm all of 3 minutes in!

now, being just 5 minutes in, it's reminding me of Ali Project (noir sdtk) whom I totally love for their combination of sound and sight. I can SEE a place and a story even tho I can't understand the words. That's what I'm feeling here! Definately a great find! I like the depth of the male vocal to the sound... sometimes Ali gets a bit shrieky for my poor ears! LOL

Thanks~

Yes! I didn't know of Susumu Hirasawa till I saw Paprika, and then I ***had*** to get the OST. :D Incredible music!

Also: beautiful artwork! Very striking and mysterious.

I don't think I'm familiar with the artist, but thank you so much for sharing.

Also, I saw this on dA but I might as well tell you here that I absolutely loveloveLOVE the colours and lighting technique you went for. So... earthy. And it's nice to draw a different sort of characters once in a while, isn't it?

You're welcome! I hope you like it. ....or at least don't hate it. Hirasawa is very strange stuff. I'll be curious to hear what you think of it.

And thankyou! The picture was really just a quick scribble that turned into more... and for most of the process, I was asking myself why the hell I had decided to be so masochistic.... painting backwards (I started with the dark ground) and backlighting besides. |D;;; And yes, his differentness makes me very happy. He's actually very loosely based on Sendhil Ramamurthy, not that anybody would guess that from looking at him. XD

Nyargh, haven't managed to listen to it yet >___<

Ah, the guys from Heroes! I can sort of see it now that you say it. Does he actually have dark skin, or is that do to with the lighting...?

Heheh, 'sokay. Good things can afford to wait. ^^

And yeah, he has darkish skin. Not quite as dark as whatsisname, but a little darker than average Caucasian.

Thankyou! Lighting is one of those things that simultaneously is fun and makes you proud of yourself if you get it right, and also makes you want to stab things with frustration. >.>
