Mmm, tweaking. I think his stomach-profile needs a bit more definition, maybe. And possibly his elbow on the. Left. His left, my left, both lefts. And I would say to not take the opacity down so uniformly on his skirt cloth-thing [should it be visible in the space between his legs?]; the change just seems a bit jarring, because of the flat, bold nature of the rest of it. I like your cliff~

I like my cliffie too~ XD

And, ahh. *smacks self* Durr, yes, he needs a front skirt too. |D I also see what you mean about his elbow and tummy. ^^ I confess I have no idea what you mean about the opacity of the skirt, though. Because, err, it's a totally opaque layer. Is it maybe that it's less saturated than other stuff, do you think? *is mystified*

I mean the lines. They're lighter than the other lines, and it's kind of incongruous.

Hmm, the bend of the elbow in his right arm doesn't line up properly. The inside bend is way to high for the outside bend. The left elbow bend seems almost non-existent.

How long is the apron in the front? If it's not supposed to be really short, some of it should be visible between the legs.

On the back apron, some of the lines going over the folds shift properly, some do not. Might want to take a look at that.

Don't see much else that might need a second look :) This reminds me of storybook illustrations and I think that if that is what you were aiming for then you did an excellent job :)

My personal preference would have been so see some highlighting and shading in it to give it more depth, but you know me :)

Ohh, I see what you mean about the elbow. And I totally overlooked the lack of front apron. Must fix that.

I'm so glad you like it otherwise, though! A storybook feel is definitely what I was going for. I know your tastes run quite different from my usual stuff, so it's a nice compliment to get from you. :)

His right elbow looks a bit better, but the inside bend still seems a little high to me. Then again, I could be off on that, looking too hard?

The rest of the changes are spot on :D

Thought storybook might be where you were going with that one. You usually put some amount of highlight and shading in your work unless you're doing something specific like that. Flatness in storybook illustrations I handle quite well. You have to remember that I'm a Seussophile as well as a lover of good childrens books.

Just had a thought. I think it would be neat to see you illustrate a book of Celtic myths for children. I know you have some interest in Celtic lore and I've seen you do drawings/paintings that would lend themselves to that subject matter very well. Just a thought :D

Yeah, the inside bend of the elbow is still a little high, but the excuse I'll use is that it has to do with the perspective (looking down at him rather than straight on), and also that I kinda like it that way. ^^;

Ooooh! I think I would love something like that. Problem is needing some material to illustrate. A writer I am not, sadly. It's something I could look into for inspiration, though. Know of any particularly good texts?

I'm not an artist, so I don't feel I have the right to nitpick. I like it just as it is, really. It's very simplicity is elegant.

Thank you! I'm glad the simplicity comes off as elegance and not as boring plainness. ^^;

Hey Kaysha, it's Liz of Jeromie & Liz.

I love the colors! Heck, I love the whole thing...

Also wanted to say that we miss ya! I apologize if this isn't a very cohesive comment. It's 4:30am, and I'm up with an awful chest cold. :-(

The design of the piece reminds me of Amy Kim Ganter's stuff, while the feel of it takes me back to Okami. Damn, I sound like an art critic. My favorite part, though, is the top of the picture; it adds to the loneliness.

I was gonna try and write something up to go along with this, but my first idea was shit. Maybe inspiration will strike.

Awesome, at any rate. You make me jealous. :)
