Tonight, Proprietors of the Earth are playing at the Deli, and queers (and freaks of all stripes) are specifically invited to come out and have a grand old time. I know these kids--they're pretty cool. So come out to campus corner! It'll be fun

Where is the development in Norman and what kind is it? Its been about 4 months since I was there and 6 months since I really spent time there.

It's sort of all over. Thankfully, the city has chosen to use imminent domain to protect Sutton wilderness from being turned into more tacky suburbs, but the west side of town is really gross and getting worse, and they're building a mongo strip mall ("Lifestyle Center") on the north side of town by the super target. A lot of the development is really controversial (like the city funds that are going into the tif district--where the Lifestyle Center is going), and is by no means well-accepted by everyone here.

It's also annoying that most of the construction and infrastructure building that is done as a city is based on old unsustainable models and that insufficient attention is given to doing something to make Norman more livable long-term for everyone.
