I agree and actually under stand some of what you are saying, and we say the word "the" totally wrong. Also the letter "A" does not make the sound "uh" as a certain kindergarten teacher was telling her students after having them sniff markers last school year. When people switch to the sound "uh" it's mostly because of laziness. I think I should make a new alphabet that actually makes sense. What do you think?

I think we need to scrap the whole language and invent one that makes a distinctions between verbs and nouns. Latin might be the way to go, but I haven't studied it enough to know whether it's precise enough.

On second thought, screw that, let's go with the zombie alphabet. We'd only need one letter.

How about this: These letters we leave alone: B, D, F, H, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, T and V. Then G only makes the guh sound, and J only makes the jay sound. A = ay only, E = eee. I = eye, O = oh, and U = ooo. That leaves us with 7 extra letters that will have their sounds changed. C = ch, Y = i, eh (as in if), Q =th, W= uh, X=awe, Z=ahh(as in apple).

So, yf I uxntyd tu rit swmqeng, I ud spyl yt lik qys.

We're on the right track with that, but what I would take issues with is that there are vowels that are just borrowing sounds, like "I," which is really just aw-ee. We need vowels that produce only the root sound. They'd come up together all the time in English, but most already do.

Then we publish this new spelling system and get laughed at.

Yeah, the real problem is the vowels, There are way more than five. And they are all spelled different ways. But also the french spellings, spelling the p sound with ph, spelling school instead of skool. These things have always bothered me. They tell you in kindergarten and elementary school that there are rules for these spellings, and the letters make certain sounds and all you have to do is sound them out, But they were LIES!
