Wow, that sounds pretty awesome, I should check it out.

Translation-LPing is a pain in the neck. The game I did wasn't that text-heavy, but it did have some large technobabble-laden text dumps, and... well, I promised to LP the sequel like a year ago and I still haven't gotten around to it. So I really have the utmost respect for anyone who does VNs or anything with that level of text. They are crazy, and I salute them.

Tee hee, I've wanted to thank you for that LP ever since I figured out it was you -- that one was a game I was always really curious about! And it turned out to not actually... be all that good... so I don't even have to feel bad about it never getting localized anymore! You are also fantastic, it's true.

It certainly has to be a big, tricky project to take on, even with a less text-heavy one, just to share a video game with people who might never get to know about it otherwise. I have a lot of respect for that. Dangan Ronpa is text out the wazoo, with lots of pop culture references and the occasional pun and all that nuancey business. The LPer is doing a pretty phenomenal job, all things considered (my heart is the heart of an editor so I can't help noticing the spots where it needs proofreading). Lots of respect.

Haha, I didn't realize you knew it was me - I thought I was being so stealthy. Although I guess I gave out enough details about stuff I did and living in Japan and so on in the LP thread that someone cross-referencing it with my LJ could figure it out pretty easily. The separation between my SA identity and my rest-of-the-internet identity is more for the sake of not having my RPing/fanfic-writing/general Girl Fandom habits dredged up on SA, though; I don't care if people on LJ dredge up my LP-making habits.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the LP (even though the game wasn't all that good, and despite the constant technical difficulties)!

I've just started reading the Dangan Ronpa LP, and it looks... bizarre, yet intriguing. And holy cow, that is a lot of text. That LPer is crazy.

To be fair, it was a while ago but if I remember right there was a point when you had to temporarily put something up on a xenoglossy account? I think I wondered a little before that too, but I can't remember why. I apparently am just sort of naturally a stalker even without trying.

-- I hear you on your reasoning too, that's precisely why I solely lurk with my account. (Although I like having it set up as a barrier to entry; I kinda feel like if I start getting involved in actually posting in there it'll go places, so I never will unless something gets me antsy enough to spring for the name change.)
