Don't ask why I am awake right now ( I hae no fucking clue)
If it really bothered you to the extent tht you want nothing to do with neuroscience now Josh, then by all means you should change majors...I don't for one moment believe that. We all know you love this shit, from the fervor you talk to Erin about class scheduling...Pick up Linguistics as a second major, then you kill two birds with one stone (fallback point and a reason to stay here longer ((plus you can take more German classes)))...We all find things that in our respective fields of study that make us somewhat uncomfortable, and it only complicates itself when we start thinking abouthow it affects our life plans...Its ok to be disturbed by ratling head choppy, but does it really make you lose desire to be a neuroscientist?

They call it sacrificing here too. I think I can handle it; it's just that I wasn't ready for killing pups or for killing an animal that wasn't anesthetized. I didn't realize how long they'd keep moving. As for the formaldehyde, I really need to get viable cultures going as soon as possible. It's really good to hear that I'm not the only person who's been freaked out sacrificing animals in the lab. thanks.
I agree with Elizabeth. I know it sucks, but give it a little more time. I completely understand about the grossness and the "do I really want to kill baby rats for a living" thing. It won't be like that. I am lucky that I have never had to deal with this before. But I know somewhere down the line, I will be working on some project involving test animals. Most likely cute little monkeys. ::sigh:: But that's not the point....
If you can't do it, there is still plenty you can do in the field Josh. Don't give up on it. I know it's something you really love. Believe me you wouldn't talk so enthusiastically about it if it weren't important and interesting to you. You'll regret it if you leave the field fully. I know it. Please give it some more thought if not another try.
