BAH!

I wouldn't wish the frustration of research on my worst enemy. I'm supposed to commit 10 hours a week to research, which wouldn't be a problem except that scheduling things and getting in contact with people is impossible. I know nothing. I'm stumbling around in the dark trying to feel my way around and I keep stepping on people's toes and getting ( Read more... )

Isn't it wonderful? I feel your research pain, and I think it's a Tulane problem in general (well at least in the larger departments). It irks me to no end that they (departments, professors, etc) just expect undergrads to magically know what to do in those situations. What are we supposed to do? Do they expect us to read their minds? C'est la vie. Life in research would be so much easier if we knew what was expected of us. Of course, "it wouldn't be called research if we knew what we were doing." Have you talked to any of your profs about how you feel?

I'm about too go to Dr. Tasker and ask him if I need to drop research for credit and just keep training this semester because of what's going on. I won't have any results by the end of the semester, that's guaranteed.

I'm amused to find that "fuck" is a mood. "Wanting to fuck" is a mood I can understand, but the word in itself...hehe.
Now if we can call "fuck" a state of mind, I guess one could say that's the state of mind I live in. RDRR.

If you give up, you lose. If you continue fighting, there's at least a chance that you'll succeed. Pull your head from the ground and fight. You've got half a semester left. If there's a chance for something that you want, go for it. It might take a lot out of you, but if you really want it, you'll fight for it with tooth and nail. You know you can do well. Don't disappoint us boy.

stop beating yourself up about this Josh...We all have fuckloads upon fuckloads of work, and none of us are getting as much done as we want..Hell I have to learn an old form of a language and it sucks ass...The only difference between us and LSU students is that we pick our lazy Tulane asses up, dust off and keep beating our fucking heads in...All you need is to sit down somewhere you can't be distracted, and just hit the shit...
