Things my Daughter knows.

Donuts are made of cake.

Yesterday we got donuts for breakfast, she has had them before but it has been a while. When she saw the box she started happily yelling: "Cake Cake Cake!" I tried to correct her: "donut." "cake." "DONUT." "CAKE." "doooonut." "caaaaaaaake." She is not fooled, she knows what cake is.

A former co-worker once got pwned by her in-laws. Grandma was about to let co-worker's daughter have a slice of cake for breakfast, and defended this decision with "well, if we'd offered her doughnuts, you'd have said yes, right? And a doughnut is really just fried cake, right?"

Oh, and you saw the recent post to hyperboleandahalf, right?

Yes I did, and it was terrifying to think that one day my daughter might be like that. TERRIFYING!

What I find particularly terrifying, myself, is I'm much more like that NOW than at that age.
