SPN 2x14 - Born Under a Bad Sign

Yeah, you're not going to find any meaningful episode meta here. Just a lot of squee and flailing.

Okaaaaay. I don’t even know where to start.

I’ll admit, I was all kinds of anxious about this episode. Seriously. I mean I knew it was going to rock, but the past couple have left me a horrible broken mess, and I kinda had an idea of how this one was going to go down and the thought was killing me. BUT! They pulled it off and oddly enough left me in all manner of a squeeful mood.

First off? I loved the flashy scene transitions at the start. I know there’s probably a cool technical term for that, but I’m buggered if I know what it is. But it was awesome and snazzy and cool.

Did I mention I spent most of this episode with my hands over my mouth in that “OMG I know something’s going to happen and it’s going to be awesome” anticipation sort of way? ‘Cause yeah, I did.

Dean saying he’d rather die than kill Sam? OMGLOVE. Not that we didn’t know that already but that scene was just so beautiful and perfect. Like how he was so emotional when he was saying how he’d tried so hard to protect Sam. Oh Dean.

I honestly didn’t know that Jo was making a reappearance I this episode, so seeing her was a bit of a surprise. A bigger surprise? I actually didn’t hate her. In fact I enjoyed the scenes with her in it. Of course, that could be because Evil, Possessed Sam was so freaking hot. I mean God. I watched that whole scene with a vague feeling that I should be willing Sam to stop, to not hurt her, but God. His hands when he first grabbed her hand? All long, flexed fingers. The way had that predatory look in his eyes. How he picked her up so effortlessly. And the whole almost-kiss thing. Jeebas. I may have asploded. I…may now have a thing for not!Sam.

What also amused me was the way he smacked her down over Dean. I guess her bubble has now well and truly been burst. (And maybe it’s just the wincest fangirl in me but I couldn’t help but detect a little bit of jealous!Sam there. His Dean, not Jo’s!)

I did wtf at her though when she asked Dean if Sam was possessed. I mean seriously. She’d met the guy! How could she possibly not realise that he was possessed?

Bobby is all kinds of awesome. The holy water in the beer was just genius.

Oh, but I did feel so awful when Not!Sam was beating up on Dean, talking about how he was worthless and couldn’t save Sam. Really hitting him right there where it hurts. But Dean turning around and landing one on poor real!Sam was classic. As was Sam’s face after.

The ending was all kinds of love. Dean saying he’ll save Sam if it’s the last thing he’ll do. And the whole Sam having a girl inside him for a whole week thing was just awesome. I love how Dean always manages to add a bit of levity by lowering the tone. *glee*

Man. Whenever I think it’s not possible to love this show any more, they go and prove me wrong. Oh SPN, how you own my soul.
