Jo had always known that hunting would be the death of her one day. It had killed her dad and she'd just known that she wasn't the type of person who was gonna live to old age and die peacefully. The apocalypse had made that all the more clear. Lucifer was walking around and no one was safe from that. She even liked to think she'd known, when she started shooting at those Hellhounds, that it was the end right there. And she'd been okay with that. Sam and Dean were important, how exactly she wasn't sure but they were, and dying to keep them safe wasn't so bad. It was even kind of fitting, dying for a Winchester. Just like her daddy.

Still, it hurt like a bitch and her hands were slick with the blood that covered her, her blood, and part of her was still a scared little girl who wanted her mother to make it all better again. And she'd closed her eyes for just a second, only a second really, and the world had changed. When she opened them, her mom and Sam and Dean were gone. All of it was gone. And she wondered if she was dead, but she hurt too much to be dead. She was standing, but that changed quick enough because like hell were her legs strong enough to hold her. She stumbled and fell to the floor, her hands and some flimsy bandages the only things keeping her insides where they belonged.

"Help?" she called weakly, not really expecting anything to come from it. If she somehow survived, by some miracle she didn't believe in, then she'd figure all this out. If not...well, it was kind of a moot point then, wasn't it?
