The Doctor was working on a way to get out of the city. That was the ultimate goal. For now, he was settling on figure out what the hell the city was. A prison planet? A resort planet? Because the Doctor didn't buy that they were all "chosen." Chosen had too many negative or positive connotations. Most of the time they were negative. Chosen usually meant that you were chosen to be on someone's dinner plate. Without the purple ketchup.
That was the idea behind the molecular wave disruptor. Something to interrupt the molecules at a base level. Sort of like a phasing weapon. If he could get it to work right. The Doctor didn't believe that x-ray bloke. There had to be something under the Central Mansion. If not there, then he'd move to check out the sewers. Yes, the sewers. The Doctor never doubted the powers of sewers.
He sat down at a bench some time ago and had been toying with the device. It wasn't the same he had when he met up with Didi. This one looked more like a small radio than it actually did a weird box with a rotating dish. Except now the radio was taken a part and the Doctor was continually moving around drivers and wires and probably some sort of watch battery. It was pretty hard to tell what it was.
