Rush tended to be much busier on the weekends.
There was something about the atmosphere that attracted people to it. They had many regulars who came in with their friends for drinks, businesses that threw their parties in the
dining rooms, and curious newcomers who stepped in to get a look at the place and left several hours later. The
bar always had at least a few patrons, and the
restaurant was never empty, but on a Saturday night, they were often filled to capacity.
If not filled, then exceeding.
To the casual observer, it was a typical Saturday night at Rush. It was an event night, which meant entertainment was being provided in the main dining area. Many people were dressed to fit the theme of the evening "The Roarin' Twenties", and were dressed as flappers, gangsters, and old-time businessmen. If they could foxtrot, they were welcome to do so on the dance floor, or they could admit defeat and attempt something more modern with other guests. Everyone seemed to be in too good a mood to concern themselves with the little details.
If anyone looked closely, they might notice that the chandeliers had the slightest shake to them tonight, and that the otherwise immaculate ballroom had a slight crack that started in the ceiling and ended at the top of the wall next to the stage. Such minor imperfections meant nothing on such a chaotic night, but they were both present and somewhat unusual. When considering the reputation that Rush had built for itself with the citizens of El Dorado, someone might have thought about telling the owner to fix that wall.
Unfortunately, the name of the owner remained a mystery, even to many of his employees. And for some reason, the manager was nowhere to be found. While it looked like a typical Saturday night at Rush, truthfully, the night was going to be anything but typical.
[OOC: If your character is going to be inside Rush during the collapse, this is the thread for them to enter and either chat with other characters, or sit by themselves! After most 'guests' are present and participating, I'll post up part II.]
