To: Captain Jack Harkness and the Doctor
The Master’s here. Ran into him in the lobby a few days ago. Seems like he’s from around the same time I am.

Martha was at work, trying to process all the information rolling around in her brain. There was too much going on at once, too many revelations and thing that she didn’t understand. First actually finding the Doctor and having to reintroduce herself all over again, and then the Master arriving-she was doing everything that she could to try and distract herself from these uneasy feelings inside her. There were two different forces battling at her-one that told her to listen to Jack, and the other that made her wonder how they ever could have won.
She had been doing what the Doctor had told her. She was going to the people all over the world and telling her story, trying to get them on board with what the Doctor had planned, but she was starting to doubt. They were just words. Words had power, but not the kind that stood up against lasers and weapons. Now she was doubting herself, which was the last thing on Earth that she wanted to do. Not with the Doctor counting on her back home, wherever that was.
She decided to try and stop thinking about it and throw herself into her work instead, but that wasn’t helping much either, given as slow as things were. She was bored more often than not, which got her back to thinking again, and then the whole bloody cycle started all over. She was starting to get frustrated, but she knew there wasn’t much else she could do. She pushed up from her seat at the nurse’s station and decided to take a walk through the hospital and clear her head a bit.
It wasn’t much to do, but at least it was something.
