Caroline had been settling in surprisingly well, all things considered. Or maybe it wasn't so surprising. Maybe what she needed was a break from all the chaos and the craziness and the drama that was her life lately. Stefan stopped and turned towards Caroline, the deeply etched frown lines working themselves out in an instant at the sight of her to be replaced with a smile. "Oh, hey, Caroline," he said casually, closing the bedroom door. "I, uh, did sneak out earlier, to the forest."

Chuckling quietly, he titled his head a little. "Is everything all right?" he asked, amused, but there was evident concern mixed in with it. He wasn't sure if he was imagining it or not, but it seemed as if she was being more odd than usual. "You seem a bit...jittery." And then he frowned, stepping closer, and lowered his voice despite the fact there was no one around to hear them. "Is it the craverings? If you're struggling with them, maybe I could help distract you somehow."
