First face transplant undertaken successfully this week in France. Link. Critics speculate on trauma caused by no longer recognising one's own face. Patient pleased with operation, able to smile, eat, speak again, says thank you.

With the hand transplant guy, i'm not sure I would say he wasn't
"all there." A while after the operation, he asked the doctors to remove the hand again because he was uncomfortable with someone else's hand just being there all the time. I think that would be pretty creepy if you let yourself think about it. All the other things that hand has done...
