Impressive! A co-worker once was telling me how his grandfather fought off a polar bear. Using the old arm trick. From elbow to hand hold it in front of you vertically. Because it's closest, the bear wants to bite it but can't open it's mouth that wide. And it doesn't have the sense to turn it's head sideways. So it gets stuck and you can back off.

I've never tested it on a bear, but it worked on a couger I met at the bar.

I'm not sure I believe that, I thought bears were pretty smart... but what do I know about fighting off polar bears with my bear hands?
