[oc] Francis is not french nor blond
UNFORTUNATELY~ :D
So yes this is a drawing of my OC Francis, he's from a different story altogether from the Florist's Lover, so yeah, another universe that may one day become a book, as I'm mainly a writer. I don't know why, I just can't get this story to work, I'm so stuck on it :/
< ungraceful personal ramblings> I have so much shit to do recently, between school work (mainly latin <3 but also lots of lit and philo), art classes (technically it's still schoolwork but...) with the trillions of projects that I have to complete! I have to do at least two portfolios because i want to apply to two different Foundation degrees in London :/, all this combined with the fact that i had a huge meltdown and now believe that i suck at photography and that in fact, i don't like it all that much... all that is a HUGE chunk of my time!
Then my hobbies take so much out of me because they are ~productive ~creative hobbies, like writing and drawing so i spend a lot of time on them and they also exhaust me, even if I adore them :/ It's not like my hobby of film watching, that's just plain relaxing and enjoying yourself. In drawing and writing, you actually have to work while you're supposed to be relaxing :/ yet still I persist, what a masochist. So yeah, another big chunk of time.
And then on my sleeping time free time, I also subtitle this BBC documentary on Ulysses named "Homer's Odyssey - Gods and Monsters" from english to french so my literature teacher can use it in class (we're studying it) and it is also very trying as subtitling takes a long time and is tedious work. Still I love Ulysses and literature and really want to be useful for once ; it also serves as practice for other (hopefully easier) projects, as i'd really like to be useful to the fandoms that gave me so much... So i'd like to subtitle stuff, that would help me give back to the french fandoms of american/english tv series, as i'm already trying to give back to the manga community by scanning doujinshi!
So yeah I feel so short on time :/ Writing is so hard, and anyway no one reads it, so yeah i kinda get de-motivated, but i'll never give up, writing is my first and eternal love!
So, what about Francis? He was previously a photographer, but as everyone kept asking if he was supposed to be me, he's now a journalist. A very laid-back guy, kind of wacky ; but still, the straight man in the comedy duo (he is also straight in the sexual sense of the term, i know wtf, a heterosexual guy in MY stories, how blasphemous). He's the indie dude that has drugged-up friends, you know that guy? He's also supposed to be the main character, but i'm doubting this, as i'm having a love affair with another character from this universe : linda Paul.
So yeah, he lives with his childhood friend Paul and Paul's college girlfriend, Alex. They've broken up now, due to Paul's terminal gayness. As Alex is a very special kind of girl, they're still very good friends, all three of them (basically she's non-gendered, whatever : she's a girl, but looks so much like a guy the whole world is persuaded she's male, and she's not doing it on purpose, it's just they all assume and she doesn't deny anything. Not trunk-driver male, just "oh yeah that gay college dude in baggy clothes? wasn't he dating the blonde guy, y'know, the total fairy?"). She's a bartender now, as they are out of college. Paul, the total fairy, is a prissy little miss and professionally, a high-class escort male prostitute ; his job also leads him to crossdress as the fabulous "Linda".
As you may have noticed, I love gender-queer, or just plain queer characters...

When you have the same friends he does, you also spend a lot of time denying your various relationships :) But they know he still loves them!
